the Giostra is an ancient contest representing the middle age fight against the Saracens. The match is on Piazza Grande after a long historical parade. The horsemen of Porta Santo Spirito, Porta Crucifera, Porta del Foro e Porta Sant'Andrea run with their horses trying to hit the turning statue representing the Saracino. They have to hit strongly trying to avoid its hit back. The winning horseman get as award the golden lance. 

When: third saturday of June and first day of September.
