The race to the ring

It's a competition between the districts of Mezule, Fraporta and Santa Maria. Those districts participate with three horses and three man on a circuit. The representant of each district run on the circuit and try to fit his lance in three little rings with a diameter of 8 cm. The winner holds a silver ring as award for a year. The Corsa all'Anello (run to the ring) started as a celebration in the Middle Age and today the village of Narni lives as in those years. Performances and shows and the big historical parade (in the night, more than 500 persons participate) are in historical clothes.
