The Giostra is known since 1400's. The Quintana is a statue representing Mars, ancient god of war. La giostra della Quintana is a 10 horse race with horsemen with typical clothes of 1600's. Horsemen will have to fit their lance on little rings on the Quintana. A historical parade made of hundreds of persons in baroque clothes goes trough the town before the race. During this long period of 15 days, it is possible to live as in the 1600's. In fact, the town is involved in a long 1600's style huge party where food cooked as in that period is served for free in long tables on the streets of Foligno.
