The most important ruins of the ancient period of Syracuse are in the Neapolis park. A huge site of 240,000 square metres crowded of rests of the magnificent ancient periods.
There the most famous sign of wellness of Syracuse in Greek period is the ancient theatre. A great monuments built by Greeks more than 2,500 years ago and still alive for its famous performances still played every year. Syracuse's theatre is the oldest and largest among the Sicilian theatres. It could contain 15,000 spectators. It has been the first stone-made theatre. In fact, it was graven on the Temenite hill on the first half of V century b. C.
