The headquarter of the fascinating world of luxury and elegance, Piazza di Spagna is the square where the street with the most important fashion and luxury shops in Italy starts. The square take its name from the Spanish Embassy on one of its side, right in front the statue of the Immacolata above a high marble coloumn. On the top of the square is the church of Trinità dei Monti that names the famous staircase to the square. At the end of the staircase is the famous “barcaccia” founta with its boat-shape.
The staircase were designed by Francesco De Sanctis on 111726 and wholly built in travertino, a wite marble common in Roman monuments. The staircase-shape is famous because it is separated in three different ways connecting each oter after sweet roundings.
On spring the staircase is covered of many azalea plants in flower giving to the whole square a very charming look.
