Luxury Hotels in Milan

Milan is the second most important city of Italy. Possibly even more important than Roma as regards business life. Milan is pretty interesting to the tourist also for its monuments.
The Cathedral is the most representing monument of the city. It is considered as one of the best example of Italian late Gothic art and as the third dome as dimension (after Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome and Seville's Cathedral).
It was built on 1386 on order of Gian Galeazzo Visconti, lord of Milan. A visit to the roof is recommended for the amazing view of the city and to see closer the “Madonnina”, the golden statue of Holy Mary protecting Milan.
Sant'Ambrogio is the second most important church of Milan. It is much older than the Cathedral. It was founded on 380 circa and dedicated to Saint Ambrogio, patron Saint of Milan. It was built on a splendid Romanesque-Lombard style. Inside is the famous “Altare d'Oro” dated 836. Outside the Piazza taking its name after the church is the Tempio della Vittoria an impressive marble building dedicated to the soldier died during the First World War.
The imposing Castle built as a defensive building by Galeazzo II Visconti became, under the sovereign of Ludovico il Moro, one of the most important court where the most famous artists of Renaissance spent long period producing several masterpieces. Inside the castle the most important parts are represented by the famous Tower of Filarete and the enormous courtyard named “Piazza d'Armi”.
On the Piazza Duomo is the famous “Galleria” a splendid, huge gallery, impressive because of its structure and decorations. Here are many shops and café. Crossing the gallery is the most important Italian Opera House, La Scala, known all over the world for its famous performers. In front of La Scala is Palazzo Marino built on 1523 and seat of the Municipality of Milan.
The historical side of Milan is pretty small, many other areas of the city are well known for other reasons. Brera is famous to be the artists' district. The “Navigli” is the most attractive area for nightlife.
Milan is than famous to be the capital of fashion. This is easily understood walking through the most important streets for shopping, via Monte Napoleone and via della Spiga.
